University of Virginia
A MESSAGE FROM OUR PRESIDENT:
Hello and welcome to the official website of the Zeta Beta Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta at the University of Virginia! My name is Ellie McCabe and it is my pleasure to have the opportunity to serve this chapter as president. I️ am excited to be able to share a little more about Gamma Phi and how it shapes each sisters’ collegiate experience.
Here at Gamma Phi, we are committed to our four core values: Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty. These values are exemplified by each Gamma Phi Beta sister in countless ways. Sisters are always supporting each other whether it be through small group hang outs, study sessions, or fun nights out. Our philanthropic mission, Building Strong Girls, brings us closer as sisters. One example of this is our signature philanthropy event, Moonball, which is a beach volleyball tournament in the fall which gives back to our local Girls on the Run chapter right here in central Virginia!
Our open motto is “Founded Upon a Rock” and Gamma Phi has certainly been sisters’ rock throughout the pandemic. During a time when the world was isolating, Gamma Phi sisters were still able to connect over zoom trivia and powerpoint nights. Now that things have begun to open back up, sisters are working together to find their new college norm as we welcome a new member class.
Like many others, some of my favorite memories at UVA happened with my sisters, whether it be the Gamma Spy Beta date function, birthday parties with sisters, or the time we spontaneously decided to go to a haunted house during Halloweekend. I cannot emphasize enough my love for Gamma Phi and I hope that you take the time to explore our website to learn more about my amazing sisters!
With love,
Ellie
