BUILDING STRONG GIRLS
Our philanthropic mission is to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in women. We work towards fulfilling our mission every single day. What we focus on is building strong girls which goes hand in hand with our philanthropy, girls on the run.
This mission does not just address an existing challenge - we are building strong girls to proactively provide opportunities for a lifetime of success by inspiring the young women of tomorrow. As girls we have to build each other up and never stop.
We are who we are today because we had someone in our lives who taught us what it means to be a strong girl. Working with these girls on the run chapters provides them with resources and strong female role models we all need in our lives. A question we often ask in Gamma Phi is "Who is a women that inspires you?" We strive to be role models and inspire young girls with these leadership skills so they know girls can do anything and they are meant to be strong!
GIRLS ON THE RUN
Girls On The Run is an organization that is integrated into elementary and middle schools as an after school activity. The girls who sign up for Girls On The Run participate in learning about physical fitness, healthy lifestyle choices, tutoring and mentoring and empowerment all while training for a 5K race at the end of the eight week program.
At the Zeta Beta Chapter, we build strong girls by participating in a variety of organizations. We volunteer with our local Girls on the Run Chapter in Virginia and host multiple fundraisers throughout the year, ranging from cook outs to carnation sales to percentage days at local businesses, in support of our philanthropic mission to provide experiences and resources that build spiritual, mental and social resiliency in girls.
MOONBALL
Each year we host moon ball which is a beach volleyball tournament and our biggest philanthropy of the year! We raise money for girls on the run through the teams that sign up to play which are different organizations on grounds! We have so much fun coaching our teams and then putting them up for the ultimate volleyball showdown to crown our moon ball champs!
